Staff Accountant


Position Summary

This position is a team member of the Accounting/ Finance department for Corindus Vascular Robotics, Inc. In this position, the individual will perform accounting and transactional activities including AP/AR, inventory accounting, fixed assets, account reconciliations and other related activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Corporate Accounting Manager with the day to day, quarterly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department; including the quarterly and annual financial close process
  • Enter and code incoming accounts payable invoices
  • Process payment and filing of accounts payable invoices 
  • Process and mail invoices to customers
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and assist with customer collections as needed
  • Manage Corporate Credit Card Program
  • Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements
  • Review employee expense reports for accuracy and accordance to the company policy
  • Prepare reports detailing monthly expenses by department
  • Analyze department expenses, including comparisons to budget/forecasted results and prior periods
  • Assist Corporate Controller with Sunshine Act, Regulatory and Federal/State tax reporting
  • Prepare mailings and priority shipments for the Accounting/Finance Department
  • Prepare labels and maintain files as needed within the department
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Preparation of Financial (GAAP) and Management reports
  • Involvement with Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures and accounting in accordance with GAAP
  • Contribute to the identification and design of accounting policies, procedures & business process improvements
  • Assist Corporate Controller with external auditor requests during quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance OR Equivalent Work Experience
  • 1 to 3 years of related accounting experience 
  • Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office, especially use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Cost accounting experience a plus 
  • ERP systems (specifically EPICOR) experience a plus
  • Exceptional problem solving abilities and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines need to be met
