SENIOR UPSTREAM PRODUCT MANAGER

 

Position Summary

The Senior Upstream Product Manager is responsible for driving next generation product and/or market opportunities, and developing the product roadmap for Corindus’ vascular robotic business. This position requires an experienced marketer who is capable of collaborating with and influencing a cross-functional team, navigating the new product development process (PDP), maintaining a customer-first mindset.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead marketing activities within the PDP from concept to commercialization:

  • Develop collaborative relationships with key functional areas including (but not limited to): R&D, PMO, Regulatory, Clinical, Finance, Downstream Marketing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and influencers to gather VOC to support both upstream (and downstream) activities.
  • Support business development activities including analysis of fit, market size, business potential and financial modeling.
  • Identify product gaps within the portfolio and provide solutions to fill the gaps.
  • Perform thorough assessment of customer and product requirements, and provide and utilize frameworks to guide decision-making on roadmap and priorities.
  • Play a key role in directing product life cycle management – roadmap, next generation (NG) and end of life (EOL).
  • Partner with Clinical, Regulatory and Downstream Marketing on the development of a clinical strategy to support desired marketing claims, indication expansion, segmentation, messaging.
  • Conduct sales and marketing presentations, training and provide advanced technical and clinical insight.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or Clinical Sciences
  • 7+ years of product management/marketing experience in medical device industry; 5+ years upstream/new product development (concept to commercialization)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including (but not limited to): R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, Sales, Finance
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical and clinical data to support commercial activities
  • Customer-first mindset
  • Experience with frameworks for product development (Kano, HoQ, ODI)
  • Experience interacting with and gaining input from KOLs and influencers
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Ability to travel - domestic and international
  • Global experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word & Excel) and Adobe Programs
  • Willing to travel 25-35%

Preferred:

  • MBA or Advanced Degree
  • Previous employment in large and small company marketing function
  • Interventional Cardiology product management/marketing experience
  • Relationships with Interventional Cardiologists
  • Experience with capital equipment and/or software
